06

07
International transfers

Some technology providers operate internationally.

Some of the service providers used by modern websites, communications systems, customer-management platforms and cloud services may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take appropriate steps required by UK data protection law. Depending on the destination and provider, these may include relying on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards.

08

We do not keep personal information indefinitely.

The period for which information is retained depends on why we hold it. When deciding how long information is needed, we consider:

  • whether there is an active enquiry, quotation, order or customer relationship;
  • the need to provide aftercare, warranty or installation support;
  • accounting, taxation and other legal record-keeping requirements;
  • the possibility of a complaint, dispute or legal claim;
  • whether the information remains necessary for the original purpose for which it was collected.

When information is no longer required, it will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of appropriately, subject to legal and operational requirements.
