The Meadows · Carryduff
The Meadows has a distinctive mix of pale brick, white render and tall dark-framed windows. Inside, those taller openings bring plenty of daylight into the rooms — which is lovely until privacy, glare or early morning light starts to matter.
Looking at the windows together makes it easier to keep that bright feel while choosing something different where a lounge, kitchen, bedroom or study needs it.
Tall glazing
The taller windows give the homes a strong vertical look from outside and bring plenty of light into the rooms. That makes the choice at the window more visible too.
Heavy treatments can quickly dominate. Slimmer blinds, shutters used selectively, and well-chosen fabrics tend to sit more comfortably with the proportions.
The same opening can feel very different through the day: bright and open in the morning, more exposed after dark, and sometimes surprisingly intense when the sun is low.
Living room
In a living room with taller windows, a slatted blind can give useful privacy while keeping the full height of the opening visually present.
The slats can be angled through the day, which helps soften views from outside and control brighter light without covering the glass completely.
The Rose show home
Braidwater describes The Rose as its signature 2,000 sq ft, four-bedroom detached show home at The Meadows. Its layout includes a large kitchen, dining and family space, a separate lounge and a dedicated study.
Those rooms all use light differently, so this is exactly where a joined-up window plan becomes useful without every room needing the same blind.
A large shared room where neat blinds and easy operation matter throughout the day.
A natural place for a stronger feature treatment or greater evening privacy.
Glare control becomes more relevant where the room is used for screens and focused work.
Blackout and privacy can be coordinated across the sleeping rooms without making them identical.
Kitchen · dining · family
In a bright kitchen and dining area, the windows are part of the room from morning to evening. A neat roller blind keeps the view open when it is not needed and gives straightforward control when glare or privacy becomes more noticeable.
Where blinds are wider, used frequently or fitted around larger glazed areas, motorisation can make everyday use considerably easier.
Main bedroom
Roman blinds bring fabric into the room while keeping the window treatment contained within the opening. On taller windows, that can feel much cleaner than a larger amount of curtain fabric.
Blackout lining can also deal with early morning light, while the remaining bedrooms can use simpler blackout rollers or cellular blinds in related tones.
Study / flexible room
The Rose includes a dedicated study, while other house types may use a bedroom or flexible room for home working.
Here, the issue is often less about blackout and more about softening daylight around a screen while keeping the room pleasant to work in.
Cellular blinds are useful for that balance because they soften the light without adding much visual weight around the window.
One joined-up appointment
Looking at the whole house together does not mean filling every room with the same product. It means being able to compare the rooms while the colours, finishes and practical requirements are all in front of you.
That is particularly useful in a home with separate living areas, several bedrooms and a study, where each space can need something slightly different.
