How Day & Night blinds work.
Two layers of striped fabric move past one another. When the sheer sections overlap, more natural light and outward view are available. Move the fabric slightly and the opaque sections overlap to increase privacy and soften the room.
Motorisation makes those small adjustments much easier to repeat, particularly across several blinds or wide areas of glazing.

What are Motorised Day & Night blinds?
They are double-layer roller blinds with alternating sheer and opaque fabric bands. Motorisation raises or lowers the blind and lets you position the bands for different levels of daylight and privacy.
Are Day & Night blinds the same as Aura blinds?
Yes. At Village Blinds and Shutters, Aura is the name commonly used for our Day & Night style blinds.
Can several blinds move together?
Yes. Compatible motor and control configurations can group multiple blinds, which is particularly useful across large windows or open-plan rooms.
Can I control them from my phone?
With compatible Somfy equipment and TaHoma, selected motorised blinds can be controlled through the TaHoma app and included in automated scenes.
Can they work with Alexa or Google Assistant?
Compatible TaHoma configurations support leading voice assistants. We confirm the exact compatibility for the selected motor and control system before installation.
Are they good for privacy?
Yes. Moving the opaque fabric bands into alignment reduces visibility through the blind while allowing you to change the setting again whenever you want more daylight.
