What free fitting actually means

The final stage is part of the job.

Made-to-measure only works when the finished product is installed properly. Our fitting service is therefore part of the complete Village process — not an optional extra added at the end.

01

Arrive prepared

The fitting team arrives with the order details, products and equipment needed for the installation.

02

Install accurately

Brackets, frames and products are fitted to suit the windows and the specification confirmed with your order.

03

Check operation

Blinds and shutters are checked for alignment, movement and correct operation before the installation is signed off.

04

Leave it tidy

The fitting area is cleared and left tidy so you can enjoy the finished room rather than deal with the aftermath.

Our fitting standard

Good fitting is about more than drilling straight.

The technical finish matters, but so does how the installation feels in your home. We expect the same care around your furniture, floors, windows and living space that we would want in our own homes.

01
Respect for your spaceWe work carefully around the room and the things already in it.
02
Attention to detailThe final level, alignment, spacing and operation matter as much as simply getting the product onto the window.
03
Safe installationWhere a product requires child-safety devices or specific operating hardware, these form part of the finished installation.
04
A tidy handoverWe check the finished product with you and leave the immediate fitting area tidy.

What customers say about the fitting

Care you can see in the reviews.

We can describe the standard we expect, but the strongest proof comes from customers who have experienced the fitting themselves. This slider shows current five-star feedback directly from Trustpilot.

Before installation day

A little clear access helps.

You should not need to turn the room upside down. The main thing is to make sure the fitting team can safely reach the windows and has enough working space around them.

Clear the immediate window areaMove fragile items, ornaments or anything that prevents safe access to the window.
Give us room to workIf practical, move furniture that sits directly against the window or blocks access.
Keep the route accessibleMake sure there is a clear route between the entrance and the rooms being fitted.
Flag anything unusualIf access, parking or the window area has changed since measuring, let our team know before the fitting date.
Free fitting FAQ

Useful things to know.

Is fitting really free?
Yes. Professional fitting is included with the blinds and shutters we supply, so there is no separate fitting charge added for the standard installation of your Village order.
What happens during the fitting appointment?
The fitting team installs the products to the agreed specification, checks alignment and operation, completes the relevant safety details and leaves the immediate fitting area tidy.
Do I need to prepare the room?
Only enough to provide safe access to the windows. Moving fragile items and anything directly blocking the working area is helpful. If there are unusual access requirements, tell us before the appointment.
How long does fitting take?
It depends on the number of products, their size, the window construction and the complexity of the installation. Your fitting time will be planned around the actual order rather than a fixed time per blind or shutter.
Are child-safety requirements dealt with during fitting?
Yes. Where a blind requires child-safety hardware or a particular safe operating arrangement, that forms part of the finished installation. Fitted safety devices should not be removed or bypassed afterwards.
What if I have existing blinds or curtains in place?
If existing window dressings need to be removed or could affect access, raise this during the quotation or before installation so the arrangements are clear before the fitting team arrives.
Do you fit throughout Northern Ireland?
Yes. Village Blinds & Shutters provides its home appointment and professional fitting service across Northern Ireland.
