Day & Night blinds combine alternating sheer and opaque fabric bands so you can adjust daylight and privacy without raising the blind completely. Choose the fabric, colour, fascia and operating method around the way you actually use the room.
Made-to-measure Day & Night blinds with adjustable fabric bands for flexible light, privacy and everyday control.
Day & Night blinds are designed around alternating sheer and opaque bands. By moving the fabric layers against one another, you can change the balance between incoming daylight and privacy, while keeping the blind lowered at the window.
Align the sheer bands to allow more daylight through while the blind remains lowered.
Overlap the opaque bands when you want greater privacy and stronger screening at the window.
Horizontal banding gives Day & Night blinds a clean, architectural look that works particularly well in modern interiors.
Day & Night blinds are well suited to powered control on suitable windows, especially across larger glazing or several blinds.
Day & Night blinds can be adjusted to give very different results at the same window. Start with the outcome that matters most.
When the sheer sections align, daylight can pass through the fabric while the blind remains lowered. It gives you a softer, more flexible alternative to simply having the blind fully up or fully down.
Moving the two fabric layers so the opaque bands overlap reduces the open sheer areas and gives stronger screening. It is particularly useful when you want to change privacy levels during the day without raising the blind.
Day & Night blinds have a strong horizontal rhythm, so fabric colour and hardware make a noticeable difference. The combination can be kept subtle or used as a deliberate design feature in the room.
Powered Day & Night blinds can raise, lower and position the fabric using the chosen control system. Compatible Somfy systems can also support app or voice control when the required additional equipment is included.
Colour matters, but so do the balance between sheer and opaque fabric, privacy, the appearance of the fascia and how you want the blind to operate every day.
Day & Night fabric uses alternating translucent and opaque sections. The look and level of screening vary by collection, colour and how the bands are positioned.
Day & Night blinds can blend quietly with the room or create a stronger horizontal feature across the glazing. Seeing the fabric beside your walls and furnishings is much more useful than choosing from a screen.
Fascia options cover the headrail and can be coordinated with the fabric, window frames or wider interior. On larger Day & Night installations, that detail becomes an important part of the overall finish.
Overlapping the opaque bands gives stronger screening and reduces incoming light, but the Day & Night construction is designed primarily for flexible light and privacy control rather than complete darkness. If a darker bedroom is the priority, tell us at the home appointment so we can compare the most suitable blind options for the whole window.
Day & Night blinds are especially well suited to motorisation. It is a practical upgrade when the glazing is large, the blinds are hard to reach, several blinds need to move together or you simply want everyday light control to feel effortless.
Village Blinds and Shutters is a Somfy Certified Expert. App or voice-control functions may require compatible Somfy equipment such as a hub and are confirmed as part of the specification.
Look at how the banding, colour, fascia and scale of the blind relate to the rest of the room. That is more useful than choosing a fabric in isolation.
At your free home appointment we can look at the room, window, light, privacy and operating preferences together, then show relevant Day & Night fabrics and fascia finishes before professionally measuring.
Our Day & Night blinds are supplied to meet applicable internal-blind child-safety requirements. The final operating system and installation should always be considered around the room and household.
