In one of our recent projects, we had the opportunity to create Motorised Roman Blinds for a unique home with a bold and exciting style. We love the chance to create a Blind for an interesting design using striking colours and interesting patterns.
A Home Perfect for Motorised Roman Blinds
Our Customer’s home was a traditional style using lots of dark wood to create a warm, homely feeling. They combined this with bold colours such as the green walls in their living and kitchen area and plenty of flowers and floral patterns. These added a personal touch as they were quick to explain their love for flowers bring energy and colour into a home.
Their living space featured a large curved bay which brought lots of natural light into the room and provided an inviting space to relax and unwind. In the dining area, they had a large window and french doors which also created an open and bright space to sit and enjoy meals.
Our Customers Needs
One of our customer’s primary concerns was being able to easily operate the blinds which were behind their living room sofa. They were awkward to reach and our customer knew that if they had manual blinds there they would end up avoiding using them and not getting full use from them. This meant Motorised Blinds were going to be the ideal choice.
The other primary concern was ensuring that any Blinds matched the decor of their home. They knew immediately that they would want a floral pattern that matched both the green colour and various plants used throughout. It wasn’t as simple as picking any pattern with flowers, it needed to be the right one to match their decor. Motorised Roman Blinds
Motorised Blinds were a great choice to provide convenience for our customer. Being able to operate the blinds from a remote meant they could be used to any time without having to struggle to reach behind the large sofa. This is a perfect use of Motorised Blinds, providing easy operation when a Blind would otherwise be awkward to operate.
Roman Blinds are not the only type that can be motorised, Roller, Aura, Cellular, Venetian, and Wood Venetian, can all be motorised as well. When a customer is interested in Motorisation our expert Design Consultants are great at helping to find the perfect style. In this customer’s case, Roman Blind’s classic look perfectly complimented the more traditional elements of their home.
Picking Fabrics With an Expert Design Consultant
Ultimately finding the right fabric took some patience from everyone involved! Our customers were full of praise for our Design Consultant who spared no expense going through every fabric available until the right one was found.
They specifically recalled nearly settling on other fabrics multiple times believing that they would ‘do’. Our Design Consultant was not willing to accept close enough, and kept going until the perfect fabric was found. As soon as our Customer’s saw it they knew they had finally found the perfect choice for their home.
Stunning Motorised Roman Blinds
Both our Customer and our Design Consultant were delighted with how the Motorised Roman Blinds and Curtains looked in the home. The large bay could now easily have privacy and block light during the evenings with just a click of a button. The Curtains covered the French door and window, perfectly matching the Roman Blinds.
They added another vibrant floral design to their decor, ensuring their home was full of life and energy. This was immediately felt in the bright and welcoming living space which our customers now felt matched their personality.

What are Motorised Roman Blinds?
Motorised Roman Blinds use a fabric which lowers out flat to cover the window and then using a powered motor can then raise into a beautiful cascade fold to stylishly dress the window even when open.
How are Motorised Roman Blinds Powered
All of our Motorised Blinds have 3 power options. If a connection is available they can be wired into the mains or they can have a rechargeable battery. This battery can then either be plugged into a nearby socket to charge or have a small solar panel attached to maintain charge.

Can existing Roman Blinds be Motorised?
A Blind could be taken apart and altered to be Motorised but as this would essentially be rebuilding the Blind we would recommend a new Blind as much better value.
