Geometric interior design continues to be a major trend, and 2025 is set to push this style even further. With bold patterns, innovative textures, and layered designs, geometry in interior spaces is both a versatile and statement-making choice. Whether you’re planning a complete home makeover or just want to refresh a room, geometric design offers endless possibilities. Let’s explore what’s trending for 2025, how to incorporate it into your home, and what other styles and elements it pairs well with.

The Essence of Geometric Design in 2025

In 2025, geometric design is about boldness and balance. The trend embraces:

  • Curvilinear Shapes: While classic angular designs like hexagons and triangles remain popular, rounded edges and circular patterns are on the rise, bringing softness and flow to interiors.
  • Oversized Patterns: Large-scale geometric designs on feature walls or rugs create a dramatic impact.
  • Symmetry and Asymmetry: Perfectly symmetrical patterns are joined by deliberately mismatched designs that create visual interest and uniqueness.

These elements bring energy, rhythm, and sophistication to any space, making geometric design a perfect choice for contemporary homes.

Colour Trends for Geometric Design

Colour is a key component of the geometric trend. In 2025, expect to see:

  1. Monochrome Magic: Black-and-white patterns continue to dominate for their timeless appeal and striking contrast.
  2. Bold Jewel Tones: Deep emerald greens, sapphire blues, and amethyst purples bring richness to geometric patterns.

  1. Pastel Accents: Soft blush, mint, and lavender hues add a playful touch to geometric designs without overwhelming a space.

  1. Earthy Neutrals: Warm taupe, terracotta, and ochre tones ground geometric patterns in natural elegance.
  2. Metallic Highlights: Gold, brass, and copper accents are being incorporated into geometric designs, particularly in lighting fixtures and decorative items.

When choosing colours, consider the overall mood you’d like to create. Dark and dramatic or light and airy—the geometric style adapts beautifully to both.

How to Incorporate Geometric Design Into Your Home

1. Feature Walls

Geometric wallpaper or painted patterns on a single wall can transform a room. Choose oversized patterns for large spaces and smaller, intricate designs for compact areas.

  • Pro Tip: Use painter’s tape to create your own geometric designs on walls. Opt for bold colours or metallic paints to make the shapes stand out.

2. Furniture With Geometric Shapes

Furniture pieces such as coffee tables with hexagonal tops or chairs with angular frames add subtle geometry to a space. Geometric furniture doesn’t just look great—it’s also a functional way to embrace the trend.

  • On-Trend Pieces for 2025: Curved sofas, octagonal side tables, and diamond-shaped shelving units.

3. Textiles and Rugs

Geometric patterns on cushions, curtains, and rugs can instantly refresh a room. In 2025, layered rugs with overlapping geometric designs are particularly popular, adding depth and visual interest to your floors.

  • Tip: Mix different textures, such as wool and jute, to emphasise the layers and patterns

4. Lighting Fixtures

Lighting is an easy way to incorporate geometric designs. Pendant lights with intricate geometric frames or floor lamps with angular bases double as functional decor.

  • Hot for 2025: Multi-tiered geometric chandeliers in mixed materials like metal and glass.

5. Tiles and Backsplashes

In kitchens and bathrooms, geometric tiles are a standout feature. Whether you choose hexagonal tiles for a backsplash or patterned floor tiles, the effect is both contemporary and timeless.

  • Popular Tile Trends: Three-dimensional tiles that add texture as well as pattern.

6. Art and Accessories

Geometric artwork, mirrors, and sculptures are simple yet effective ways to add the trend to your home. These items are perfect for renters or those who prefer low-commitment decor changes.

  • On-Trend Art for 2025: Minimalist line art featuring geometric shapes and oversized wall clocks with bold patterns.

Geometric Design and Textures

Textures play a crucial role in geometric interiors, as they can elevate simple patterns into multi-dimensional masterpieces. Some key textures to explore include:

  • Velvet and Suede: Add a luxurious feel to geometric cushions or upholstered furniture.
  • Matte Finishes: Create a modern and understated look with matte geometric tiles or paint finishes.
  • Natural Materials: Incorporate wood, stone, or rattan for a softer, organic take on geometric design.
  • 3D Surfaces: Panels and wall coverings with raised geometric patterns add depth and a tactile quality.

Layering for a Dynamic Look

Layering is essential in 2025’s geometric interiors. Here’s how to achieve it:

  1. Combine Different Patterns: Mix and match geometric designs, such as pairing a circular motif rug with triangular patterned cushions. Ensure a cohesive look by sticking to a unified colour palette.
  2. Overlap Textiles: Layer rugs or use a combination of throws and cushions to create depth.
  3. Mix Materials: Combine glossy and matte finishes, soft and hard textures, or natural and industrial materials.

Layering makes geometric designs more approachable, adding warmth and character to a space.

What Works Well With Geometric Design?

1. Minimalist Interiors

Geometric patterns shine in minimalist spaces, where their clean lines and symmetry can take centre stage. Pair with neutral colours and simple furniture for a balanced look.

2. Mid-Century Modern

The geometric trend aligns perfectly with mid-century modern interiors. Opt for retro-inspired furniture with bold geometric fabrics.

3. Boho Style

For a boho twist, layer geometric patterns with textured throws, woven baskets, and earthy colours. The mix creates an eclectic yet harmonious feel.

4. Industrial Spaces

In industrial interiors, metallic geometric elements, such as shelving or pendant lights, add a contemporary edge.

Achieving the Geometric Look

If you’re ready to embrace the geometric trend for 2025, here are some steps to help you get started:

  1. Choose a Focal Point: Start with one statement piece, such as a geometric rug or feature wall, and build the room’s design around it.
  2. Experiment With DIY: Create your own geometric patterns on walls or furniture using stencils or tape. It’s a cost-effective way to try out the trend.
  3. Mix and Match: Don’t be afraid to combine different patterns and shapes. The key is to balance bold designs with subtler accents.
  4. Start Small: If you’re hesitant to go all-in, begin with accessories like cushions or artwork.
  5. Consult a Designer: For larger projects, seek professional advice to ensure a cohesive and stylish result

As we move through 2025, the geometric trend will continue to evolve, blending new materials, technologies, and design philosophies. From sustainable materials to augmented reality tools that let you visualise geometric patterns in your home, the possibilities are expanding.

Village Blinds and Shutters Home Appointments FAQ

Our design consultant will arrive at the agreed time slot and ask you questions about your requirements and style preferences to help understand your project. They will measure your windows and discuss fabric/material options and provide you with a quotation based on your choices.

Depending on your requirements, a home appointment can take from 30 minutes for 1-10 blinds, to 60 minutes for 10+ blinds or window shutters. Our design consultant will work at your pace and we’re happy to stay longer to talk through your options and provide advice if you’d like.

We would ask ahead of the home appointment that you have arranged clear access to the window areas being measured and that any obstructing furniture or breakables near the windows are removed.

Once the windows are in, plastering has been completed and any tiling or skirting or architrave that might be close to the blinds has been installed. This will allow our design consultant to take accurate measurements.

Usually, our design consultant will be able to provide you with your quotation during your appointment.  Sometimes for some very bespoke projects pricing can take a little longer. If you haven’t heard back within 24 hours, give them a call or email and they will keep you updated.

Our production team work tirelessly to craft every single blind and shutter for our customers individually. Lead in times can vary depending on factors such as material availability and our production schedule. That being said we will always work to get your order as quickly as possible. Ask your design consultant for an up-to-date lead time estimate.
